Happy Labor Day!
For those who follow my Instagram and watch my Instagram then you might already know I am headed to New York Fashion Week this week! It has been a crazy whirlwind of a month, as I didn’t even plan on going. I think I would have felt super guilty for leaving my family if it wasn’t a work related trip with everything that’s been going on down here in Houston. Plus unless you have sponsors, it gets pretty pricey to go with clothes and travel expenses. Well long story short last month probably the end of July I started getting invites and offers from PR companies and brands I worked with for NYFW. I was fortunate to have my outfits sponsored for NYFW and to be able to work with an amazing hotel and restaurants for my NYFW City guide. I’m also excited to have an opportunity to work with some top beauty brands and share behind the scene looks for the runway shows. I will be sharing the full schedule details in the next post. But today I want to share what I am wearing to NYFW and 3 tips for staying organized while packing.
Let’s face it will be so busy during NYFW between photo shoots, PR meetings, and shows that you will have a limited time to rummage through your luggage when you are getting ready. It is important to stay as organized as possible to save you time and to avoid extra stress.
3 Tips for staying Organized While Packing:
1. Try on every outfit you are bringing.
I highly suggest not only trying on all your outfits, but having a plan on what day you plan to wear it. It helps if you have your schedule pretty much done, and to take pictures of all your outfits, so you can reference back to it. Plus it prevents from over packing and bringing things you don’t actually wear.
2. Use garment bags to separate your items.
If you don’t have garment bags, I also use dust bags my bags came with and tote bags to separate my undergarments, night-clothes, shoes, and separate my outfits by days. It is easy to stay organized when you have a separate bag for each, plus if for some reason your bag were to come open you won’t have to worry about your unmentionables slipping out. Also these bags make a great dirty clothes bag to throw your dirty clothes in when you are on your trip. And a tote bag could always come in handy if you need an extra bag to carry things you have acquired on your trip back home.
3. Pack your necessities in your carry on bag.
I have heard too many horror stories of checked in bags getting lost or delayed. That is why it’s important to have at least your first two days of outfits in your carry on, and underwear don’t forget your underwear in your carry on lol. Read why from previous experience here.
Before I share everything I am bringing I do want to take the time for all the brands who have partnered up with me for NYFW outfits:
