10 Bad Habits to Ditch this New Year for a Healthier and Happier You

This New Year I’ve made some resolutions to become a happier healthier me. Being a mom has made me realize how important my health and well being is. I know with my little kiddo getting more and more active everyday, I want to make sure I am in the best shape to keep up with him. It was a challenge for me to learn how to balance being a mother, a wife, and my own personal life. Blogging, starting a photography business, working part time, and trying to juggle all my other roles consumed me, and I had no time for my fitness. I needed to make a change and ditch some bad habits that were holding me back from reaching my goals. So here are my top 10 habits to ditch for the New Year for a healthy and happier you. The Best of 2015 – A recap of my First Year Blogging

    The Best of 2015

I can’t believe it’s already 2016. 2015 flew by and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the blessing we received. It was a year of ups and downs, but overall I wouldn’t change it one bit because through all life’s challenges I have grown so much and become a better person because of it. This year I became a mom. We welcomed our wonderful son Jayden into the world on January 19, 2015. I never knew how much I could love something until he came into this world. It scared me how much I loved him, I would die for him. protect him with all my being, and I would go to the moon and back just to give him the world. He was my inspiration this year, and because of him I became a better blogger. Because of him I was able to step back from my full time career to focus on being a mother and it also allowed me to pursue blogging. I’ve blogged about being a mother, fitness, fashion, and photography. So if you have followed along or have just started here are my favorite posts of the year. Continue reading

2 Ways to Wear Pattern Mixing

    DSC09368

Who says you can’t pattern mix when it comes to fashion? I am probably the biggest perpetrator when it comes to mixing pattern. I love Aztec prints and though most people like to pair it with solid colors, I loved how it coordinated perfectly with this black and white striped dress. Continue reading

    Chanel Inspired Fringe Tweed Jacket

    DSC08887

So this past month since we moved into our new home, my husband and I have been exploring our new hobby of antiquing and refurbishing old furniture. I love the idea of making something old new again. One day while out antiquing we decided to stop at a Goodwill to see if we could find an old table or dresser. Though we didn’t find any luck with furniture I did stumble on this beautiful vintage tweed blazer. Continue reading

Black and White with a Flare

    DSC07251

Lately with all this rain, I’ve appreciated the need for fashion hats for the Fall. I’m a big fan for floppy hats and this has been one that has transitioned from summer to fall with me. As a mom, sometimes doing my hair is a luxury, and those days I can’t I love just throwing on a nice pair of jeans, a soft tee, and a hat. Continue reading

    Navy and Fur

    DSC07133

Finally it’s starting to feel like fall here in Texas! As the weather cools down I love pairing up fall transitional pieces like this fur vest with a basic navy button down dress. This dress I bought over the summer on sale for less than $15! Continue reading

Pleather and the Eleven O’clock Curfew

    DSC06311 DSC06307

This past weekend my husband and I had the opportunity to attend a close friend’s birthday at the new Oporto in Midtown. The restaurant was amazing, great venue, reasonable prices, good food, and amazing white sangria. If you haven’t been there it, I would highly recommend it. Plus they have their own parking garage  and valet which makes it so much more convenient with all the traffic and construction down there.
