Thank you Minted for partnering up with me on this post. As always all thoughts and opinions are mine alone. Thank you for supporting those who support this blog.
I am so excited to share with your our Christmas card photos with Minted. I’ve been working all day to send them out to all of our family and friends. This year for our shoot we decided to go downtown to change-up the scenery. We always do our cards in a more country setting, but this year we wanted to do something a little different. We wanted to go with a more urban lifestyle scene. Today on the blog with Minted I am sharing 5 Tips for Fun Family Pictures with Toddlers and my gift guide for him (there’s a giveaway for him too!). See our looks and cards below!
It’s me, your number one fan. I have been since the day I found out I was having you, I knew there was nothing I wanted more than you. To see you grow, to see you flourish, to see you become the man God has destined you to be. I could only imagine when you were growing inside me, what you would look like, what your personality would be, and know that you are here you are more than I could have ever imagined. Is it so wrong for me to think you are the most perfect little being that God has ever created? I am so amazed by you, each and every day. I stare at you while you sleep and I thank God everyday for giving me such a blessing. You are my little angel in disguised, my saving grace. I owe so much of me and who I am now to you. I never knew I could be this strong, love so much, and be who I am today without you.
This week I got the pleasure to feature my beautiful friend and fellow momma photographer Amber Beach. Amber and I met when we both worked at Buckle. We both had a passion for fashion, and we also shared the same passion for photography. Amber has been there from the beginning helping me through my first year as a professional photographer. She is one of the hardest working momma’s I know. I love our mommy photographer play dates where we get to have fun practicing our skills with our favorite models, our children. Check out my interview below with this beautiful momma!
This week on the Behind the Lens series I had the pleasure of interviewing Loren from Think Elysian. Loren is a native Houstonian, and a photographer, blogger, boutique owner, wife, and mama to her fur baby boxer, Cowboy. I met Loren through a blog collaboration with Think Elysian. Since then we have become friends through our blogging networks here in Houston. She is an amazing photographer and videographer, and I love that she has branched out on her own and started her own boutique and photography business. She is the definition of a girl boss. Check out her interview below and her business tips for future aspiring photographers.
This week’s Behind the Lens Series I had the pleasure of interviewing one of Houston’s top wedding photographer and one of my childhood friends Jessica Pledger. We actually grew up a couple of streets from each other. She was an avid softball player as a young child, and eventually went on to get a scholarship to Harvard University to play softball there. After graduating with an economics degree, she came back to Houston, studies photography at Rice, and started her photography business in 2010. She is currently married to her high school sweetheart and residing in the Houston area. Check out her interview below. She is definitely one of my inspirations in Wedding photography.
I’m so excited to share with you the first of my Behind the Lens Series featuring Laura Vela of Laura Elise Loveography. I was inspired by these series because of her. As a new photographer, it’s been quite a journey learning the different aspects of photography and starting a business is an even bigger learning curve. I was so thankful when Laura reached out to me on Facebook and offered her help and guidance. Continue reading
This weekend I had the pleasure of doing this wonderful Mommy and Me photo session for Maria and her daughter. I met Maria in college when we were both in Bauer Ambassadors together. It’s been over 6 years since I last saw her, and it was definitely a pleasure to see her with her beautiful baby girl Melanie. We shot this session at Herman Park.I loved shooting Melanie because she had such a great independent spirit about her. We did not confine the shoot to any set posing, and allowed her to be free in her environment. I loved being able to capture her determination in her eyes. This little girl is a go getter. She was on the move and determined to explore her surroundings. Maria is a wonderful mother, and I can see how much she adores her little one. You cannot deny the love and bond between a mother and child, and it is wonderfully captured in these photos. We were able to get some amazing shot even though we got caught in the rain towards the end of it. Take a look at the complete gallery on the link below. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do.
