Hope you are having a good one! Today’s post may hit home for many of you with little kiddo’s like me. When I was contacted by Sophos Home to share their FREE and simple security software to help busy moms like me protect their little ones from the dangers of the internet, I immediately said yes. I have watched enough SVU and Criminal minds to be extremely paranoid about the internet. And as a blog mom, I am constantly on the internet to do work, whether it be to blog, for social media, or to keep my kiddo entertained while I am working. Haha I honestly don’t know if I would survive without it. I never thought in a million years I would say that, but blogging has changed me as a mom. And though blogging does keep me on the internet almost 24/7, I still want to do the best I can as a mom to protect my little guy from the dangers of the internet. So to keep this post light, I thought I would share some funny things that blog moms can relate to. Here are 10 reasons you know you are a blog mom. Continue reading

Every girl dreams of having their own personal workspace they can call their own, and as a mom I love having a place I can escape from the hustle and bustle of mom life, where I can focus on my blog with zero interruption. At my house it’s my Girl Boss cave, meaning no boys allowed, unless of course there is hugs and kisses involved or room service to refill my coffee cup. So late at night it is usually just me and Sasha (my cat) getting work done while the boys are asleep. If you follow me on Snapchat my office has been a work in progress. But this month I’m so excited to team up with Francesca’s and share some office inspiration to revamp my work space from drab to fab with these 6 simple tips to making your home office look CHIC!
Last month my hubby and I took Jayden for a fun little weekend trip to Dallas to visit family. You can see that post here. Before we went to Dallas we made a pit stop to Magnolia Market in Waco. I am a big fan of Fixer Upper and I couldn’t wait to find me something to decorate my office. Last time we went the store was closed so we were only able to see the outside. They are closed Sunday’s so this time we went on Friday. It was a beautiful day when we went and the perfect opportunity for me to take a video tour of an inside look of Magnolia Market. Check out my video tour below. Continue reading

This month we welcomed in our new addition to our family, Rocky Rotel Darnell. We decided to add to our pet family with our first family dog. Sasha was my first pet I adopted six years ago when I had just graduated college. But now that I’m married, and the mom to the cutest little guy, my hubby and I decided it was time to get a dog our son could grow up with. It took us three weeks and several adoption agencies later and we finally found our match. We adopted him from the Save Rescue Coalition, and we couldn’t be happier. Continue reading
I can’t believe it’s already a year since we had our baby shower and now in a couple of days we will be having Jayden’s first birthday party. Time sure does fly. I wanted to share some pictures of our beautiful Nautical baby shower we had last year. Our family and friends did a great job throwing us our shower. Continue reading
I can’t believe it’s already 2016. 2015 flew by and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the blessing we received. It was a year of ups and downs, but overall I wouldn’t change it one bit because through all life’s challenges I have grown so much and become a better person because of it. This year I became a mom. We welcomed our wonderful son Jayden into the world on January 19, 2015. I never knew how much I could love something until he came into this world. It scared me how much I loved him, I would die for him. protect him with all my being, and I would go to the moon and back just to give him the world. He was my inspiration this year, and because of him I became a better blogger. Because of him I was able to step back from my full time career to focus on being a mother and it also allowed me to pursue blogging. I’ve blogged about being a mother, fitness, fashion, and photography. So if you have followed along or have just started here are my favorite posts of the year. Continue reading
On the blog, all the way from London, I have Domestic Clean London sharing with us the 5 Golden Rules When Designing a Child’s Bedroom. Here are 5 great tips I used when designing Jayden’s nursery. We wanted his room to be kid friendly, bright and airy, and something he can grow in. We chose a nautical adventure theme for two main reasons: one my husband works in the maritime industry and is training to be a Captain, and secondly we wanted my son to have a sense of imagination and adventure every time he escaped in his room. Most of his room was either a gift, a heirloom piece, or an affordable piece found online on Wayfair. We were able to save so much money by comparing prices and buying online at Wayfair that we wanted to give you a chance to win this classic white and grey chevron rug featured here from Wayfair. Below is a complete tour of Jayden’s nursery and a chance to enter to win.
I had the pleasure of taking the interior photos for my sorority sister and interior designer Jamie Lynn Naugle of Jamie Lynn Designs. This was a beautiful space in one of Midtown Houston Lofts. I loved all the little details she added into making this a beautiful yet masculine living space for the owner. Continue reading
38 weeks and nesting. This week I was able to work on putting together Jayden’s temporary nursery at my parents house. My husband and I are still currently looking for a house and are considering possibly building a new home. We are fortunate to be able to stay rent free at my parents home until we find a more permanent solution. I wanted to share some pictures with you and a DIY craft I did that I found on Pintrest.
