Last month my hubby and I took Jayden for a fun little weekend trip to Dallas to visit family. You can see that post here. Before we went to Dallas we made a pit stop to Magnolia Market in Waco. I am a big fan of Fixer Upper and I couldn’t wait to find me something to decorate my office. Last time we went the store was closed so we were only able to see the outside. They are closed Sunday’s so this time we went on Friday. It was a beautiful day when we went and the perfect opportunity for me to take a video tour of an inside look of Magnolia Market. Check out my video tour below.

This month we welcomed in our new addition to our family, Rocky Rotel Darnell. We decided to add to our pet family with our first family dog. Sasha was my first pet I adopted six years ago when I had just graduated college. But now that I’m married, and the mom to the cutest little guy, my hubby and I decided it was time to get a dog our son could grow up with. It took us three weeks and several adoption agencies later and we finally found our match. We adopted him from the Save Rescue Coalition, and we couldn’t be happier.
I can’t believe it’s already a year since we had our baby shower and now in a couple of days we will be having Jayden’s first birthday party. Time sure does fly. I wanted to share some pictures of our beautiful Nautical baby shower we had last year. Our family and friends did a great job throwing us our shower.
I can’t believe it’s already 2016. 2015 flew by and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the blessing we received. It was a year of ups and downs, but overall I wouldn’t change it one bit because through all life’s challenges I have grown so much and become a better person because of it. This year I became a mom. We welcomed our wonderful son Jayden into the world on January 19, 2015. I never knew how much I could love something until he came into this world. It scared me how much I loved him, I would die for him. protect him with all my being, and I would go to the moon and back just to give him the world. He was my inspiration this year, and because of him I became a better blogger. Because of him I was able to step back from my full time career to focus on being a mother and it also allowed me to pursue blogging. I’ve blogged about being a mother, fitness, fashion, and photography. So if you have followed along or have just started here are my favorite posts of the year.
On the blog, all the way from London, I have Domestic Clean London sharing with us the 5 Golden Rules When Designing a Child’s Bedroom. Here are 5 great tips I used when designing Jayden’s nursery. We wanted his room to be kid friendly, bright and airy, and something he can grow in. We chose a nautical adventure theme for two main reasons: one my husband works in the maritime industry and is training to be a Captain, and secondly we wanted my son to have a sense of imagination and adventure every time he escaped in his room. Most of his room was either a gift, a heirloom piece, or an affordable piece found online on Wayfair. We were able to save so much money by comparing prices and buying online at Wayfair that we wanted to give you a chance to win this classic white and grey chevron rug featured here from Wayfair. Below is a complete tour of Jayden’s nursery and a chance to enter to win.
I had the pleasure of taking the interior photos for my sorority sister and interior designer Jamie Lynn Naugle of Jamie Lynn Designs. This was a beautiful space in one of Midtown Houston Lofts. I loved all the little details she added into making this a beautiful yet masculine living space for the owner.
38 weeks and nesting. This week I was able to work on putting together Jayden’s temporary nursery at my parents house. My husband and I are still currently looking for a house and are considering possibly building a new home. We are fortunate to be able to stay rent free at my parents home until we find a more permanent solution. I wanted to share some pictures with you and a DIY craft I did that I found on Pintrest.

The only difficulties I had was making the cloth smooth around the wreath. I used pins to play around with the cloth, and when I was satisfied with how it looked I superglued the pieces together.
Let me know what ya’ll think. 😊
