Last week we hosted our first Thanksgiving for our family at our home. We were able to decorate our home for Christmas, and we finally got to use our fancy dishes and silverware we received as wedding gifts that we had stored away for special occasions. With a little bit of help from Pinterest I was able to throw together this holiday inspired rustic tablescape for Thanksgiving. Today I am showing you all the details of our table and tree decor. Plus I am sharing our favorite tradition for the holidays and my gift guide for the home.

    Home Office Tour

I can’t believe it. I am finally done! My home office is officially complete after a year of putting it together. I think the biggest thing for me was making sure to keep true to my own unique style by incorporating pieces that have personal meaning so it inspires me. I love all the bright colors, pops of gold and yellow, and all my inspirational wall art. My office is where I spend most of my time creating, writing, and brain storming for my blog. It is also multi functional as a dressing room, with a vanity desk separate from my working desk, so I have space and room to play around with my make up, as well as make YouTube videos. It is the one place in the house that the boys are not allowed in. It’s my Girl Cave. I have to give a special shout out to my wonderful husband who helped make my vision came to life. Half of these pieces were either constructed, painted or put together by him. So I hope you enjoyed this home office tour, I’ve linked as much as I can from my office below.

You Know You Are a Blog Mom When... + Sophos Home

    Hey guys,

Hope you are having a good one!  Today’s post may hit home for many of you with little kiddo’s like me. When I was contacted by Sophos Home to share their FREE and simple security software to help busy moms like me protect their little ones from the dangers of the internet, I immediately said yes. I have watched enough SVU and Criminal minds to be extremely paranoid about the internet. And as a blog mom, I am constantly on the internet to do work, whether it be to blog, for social media, or to keep my kiddo entertained while I am working. Haha I honestly don’t know if I would survive without it. I never thought in a million years I would say that, but blogging has changed me as a mom. And though blogging does keep me on the internet almost 24/7, I still want to do the best I can as a mom to protect my little guy from the dangers of the internet. So to keep this post light, I thought I would share some funny things that blog moms can relate to. Here are 10 reasons you know you are a blog mom.

Office Inspiration: 6 Tips to a Chic Workspace with Francesca's by Houston blogger Dawn P. Darnell

Every girl dreams of having their own personal workspace they can call their own, and as a mom I love having a place I can escape from the hustle and bustle of mom life, where I can focus on my blog with zero interruption. At my house it’s my Girl Boss cave, meaning no boys allowed, unless of course there is hugs and kisses involved or room service to refill my coffee cup. So late at night it is usually just me and Sasha (my cat) getting work done while the boys are asleep.  If you follow me on  Snapchat my office has been a work in progress. But this month I’m so excited to team up with Francesca’s and share some office inspiration to revamp my work space from drab to fab with these 6 simple tips to making your home office look CHIC!

Inside Magnolia Market + Video Tour

Last month my hubby and I took Jayden for a fun little weekend trip to Dallas to visit family. You can see that post here. Before we went to Dallas we made a pit stop to Magnolia Market in Waco. I am a big fan of Fixer Upper and I couldn’t wait to find me something to decorate my office. Last time we went the store was closed so we were only able to see the outside. They are closed Sunday’s so this time we went on Friday. It was a beautiful day when we went and the perfect opportunity for me to take a video tour of an inside look of Magnolia Market. Check out my video tour below. Continue reading

This month we welcomed in our new addition to our family, Rocky Rotel Darnell. We decided to add to our pet family with our first family dog. Sasha was my first pet I adopted six years ago when I had just graduated college. But now that I’m married, and the mom to the cutest little guy, my hubby and I decided it was time to get a dog our son could grow up with.  It took us three weeks and several adoption agencies later and we finally found our match. We adopted him from the Save Rescue Coalition, and we couldn’t be happier. Continue reading
