Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend. This past week we had the opportunity to stay at the Post Oak Hotel in Houston for a family staycation in lieu of receiving their Forbes 5 star rating. Post Oak Hotel is the only 5 star, 5 diamond rated hotel in Houston, and if you’ve ever stayed there then you know why. It’s the most luxurious hotel, with top of the line technology in every room, impeccable service, great restaurants, and did I mention they have their own Rolls-Royce car service? Let’s just say being chauffeured around Houston in a Rolls-Royce was something we got to check off our bucket list during our stay. Hotel Alessandra – Birthday Staycation

This past weekend we had the opportunity to spend the weekend at the newest luxury hotel in Houston, the Hotel Alessandra, for a little holiday staycation to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Did you know I never knew about staycations until I became a mom? Let’s face it, when you have kids it is hard to get away for long periods of time, especially finding someone to watch your child for longer than a weekend. But sometimes as parents you just need a weekend to getaway and recharge, and just focus on your other half. Staycations are perfect for those moments, whether it be for your anniversary, just because, or in our case a weekend away to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday. Today I am sharing all about our luxurious weekend at the Hotel Alessandra and the perfect outfit for a night out on the town.

Our Secret to Marriage after Baby – The Woodlands Resort

Let me first say our marriage is far from perfect. Everyday we learn something new about each other, we face new obstacles, and like any marriage there is no secret it takes a lot of hard work to keep it going. And since we’ve had Jayden, it definitely has changed everything. (Read How Our Marriage Survived the First Year as Parents.) As parents we find things that work for our family and find creative ways to keep the fire alive. One of our secrets, is enjoying weekends away like the staycation we recently had at the Woodlands Resort. There is nothing more amazing than getting to stay out all night, sleep in all day, and literally do nothing but eat and play all day. It is truly glorious.
