Happy Monday everyone!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Today I’m sharing the details of the first half of my Saturday at NYFW, and these amazing red wide leg pants and lace bodysuit combo. This was one of my favorite looks for New York Fashion Week and my second most photographed look. I loved the bright color and flowy nature of these wide leg pants. This look was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I’m glad I wore it because it help me recreate the ever popular power suit trend which was still very much a statement at the Taoray Wang show. Read more about this outfit, my day, and my fifteen seconds of fame and how I got to be part of a segment on E below!
Saturday morning we started with a photo shoot right outside our hotel where there was the cutest flower shop. Greta and I were doing a Instagram take over for one of our sponsors Lauren James. Check out how adorable our dresses and shoot came out here. I can’t wait to show you the full look in a later post. After the photo shoot my other roommates, Alicia, Lan, and I headed to our first show of the day Taoray Wang. I wore this look above to her show. I loved her work wear ready inspired pieces, but my favorite had to be the designs with the fringe sleeves! This model below just happened to be wearing both of my favorite looks!
After the show we took pictures outside of Skylight Clarkson Sq. where I got interviewed about my take of inexpensive ready to wear designer dupes from over seas. There’s definitely pros and cons when purchasing items online from overseas especially when it comes to the quality of the product. I do stand behind brands I currently wear like Chicwish, Zaful, and Goodnight Macaroon. I have had issues with other brands but I will always honestly disclose to you if I do. Overall the goal is always to wear the original designer, but if you are on a budget or not quite up there in the influencer world, there’s nothing wrong with faking it till you make it in the fashion world.
We took a Uber back to the hotel after our mini shoot, where the girls headed to Kendra Scott and I ended up stopping at this amazing Crepe place for lunch. I am such a foodie and I have a major sweet tooth, so crepes was exactly what I needed to get me going through the day. I will be posting a NYFW City guide later this month where I will be sharing all my favorite places to eat in NYC.
After food and a quick wardrobe change I headed back on the subway to my next show Son Jung Wan. This was probably my favorite show because I loved her different use of textures in her collection, and it was my first male and female show. I also loved how intimate her show was and it wasn’t over crowded. I definitely felt more relaxed getting to sit down and enjoy the show with other admirers. How gorgeous are all of her designs, and there is so much attention to details? These are all pieces I would love to wear.
After the show I headed to my 3pm appointment with Tresemme. I was so excited to be working with them, and to get my hair done before my event with Rewarstyle and Philipp Plein concert/show that night. When I arrived I didn’t know I would be part of an E! News exclusive with Marianna Hewitt another one of my favorite beauty bloggers! It was such an amazing experience getting my hair done and getting to be an extra on this NYFW backstage with Tresemme for E! News. Check out the video here.
Marianna was so sweet and beautiful. I love watching her travel videos with her and her mom. For my hair style we replicated one of the most popular looks on the runway that and was seen in the Creatures of Comfort show at NYFW. This slick back do is perfect for elevating your look for a more chic and high fashion look. Check out Tresemme’s video here!
After the video, I asked for a ride with Lexus which was one of the sponsors at the show and was providing rides from the show to anywhere in NYC. Now I’ve heard you have to be on the list to get a ride, but I just asked the valet and they happily gave me a ride. I was honestly so thankful for their service, because if you’ve ever ridden in the Taxi or Uber around in NYC, it can be quite an experience. I don’t know if it was anxiety, being in a low car, but I got so car sick taking the taxi. I honestly walked and used the subway whenever I could. But Lexus chauffeured me in one of their luxury SUVs which was so nice and comforting. I could relax and not have anxiety of getting in a wreck, or the feeling of being low to the ground. I’m from Texas, and where I’m from we don’t have cars, we have trucks, SUV’s, or in my case I have been a Jeep girl from day one, so it is hard getting use to riding in a car so low to the ground.
Did I tell you I have an obsession with wide leg pants? Well if you don’t know, check out my previous post here and here. These red wide leg pants were such a statement at NYFW, and one of the biggest trends for fall. I love these, even thought they were slightly big on me, I made them work with this belt. I normally go for pants with a tie front because it’s easier to adjust but I loved these because of the vibrant color and they are under $40. This vest can actually double as a dress! I wore it as a layering piece for both of my outfits Saturday. I love this black lace bodysuit because it adds a sexy feminine feel to the trending power suit look.
