Can you believe 2016 has come and gone and now we are in the new year? This past year has been a rollercoaster when it came to my fitness goals. Looking back to 2015 and my post on 10 Habits to Ditch this New Year, I realized I let a couple of those bad habits linger through the year. This year I have so much to be thankful for, I had the opportunity to pursue my passion of blogging into a business while juggling my life as a mom and wife. But with all things said and done, I put my fitness goals on the back burner and I realized by doing so I put a huge part of me aside. I lost all of my muscles I had worked so hard for, and suddenly I became SKINNY. The type of skinny that is a result of not eating regularly, the type of skinny that is the result of not sleeping enough, and the stress of always being “too busy”. This is the skinny truth about weight loss.

This past month after stepping down from managing full time at Buckle to working part time, I decided to make more of a focus on my fitness. For the longest time I was not happy with how my body was. Last year after loosing all my baby weight and getting back to where I was before the baby I put fitness on the back burner. For a whole year I did not go to the gym, rather did at home work outs when I could. I was constantly busy with juggling being a mom and growing my business with blogging, I didn’t have time to eat right or go to the gym. I started to loose my muscles and my curves. It wasn’t until I could no longer fit into adult sizes that I started to realize how small I had gotten. Shopping isn’t fun when you have to shop in the kid section. Finally I knew I had to make a change.
Summer is just around the corner, and that means shorts, dresses, and tan lines. Who doesn’t want nice toned legs and a tan all at the same time? Last weekend I did a fun 5 minute leg workout outside with my little guy and our pup. It really kicked my butt and I only did one set, but it was nice to sweat outside for a bit and go for a little swim after in our kiddy pool outside. Check out our workout video below. P.S. Can you believe it in one month summer will be soon upon us, and I know what you are thinking bikini season! But who has time to go to the gym, juggle a career, work on a blog, and manage time with their family? I know I don’t! Trying to fit in time to go to the gym is nearly impossible. I use to be the biggest gym rat before I had Jayden, even worked out during my pregnancy, but after I had Jayden I realized it wouldn’t be that easy for me to go to the gym everyday. This New Year I’ve made some resolutions to become a happier healthier me. Being a mom has made me realize how important my health and well being is. I know with my little kiddo getting more and more active everyday, I want to make sure I am in the best shape to keep up with him. I can’t believe it’s already 2016. 2015 flew by and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the blessing we received. It was a year of ups and downs, but overall I wouldn’t change it one bit because through all life’s challenges I have grown so much and become a better person because of it. This year I became a mom. We welcomed our wonderful son Jayden into the world on January 19, 2015. I never knew how much I could love something until he came into this world. It scared me how much I loved him, I would die for him. protect him with all my being, and I would go to the moon and back just to give him the world. He was my inspiration this year, and because of him I became a better blogger. Because of him I was able to step back from my full time career to focus on being a mother and it also allowed me to pursue blogging.
