Hope ya’ll had a great weekend! Hubs was home from work so we were busy enjoying all the fun fall and Halloween festivities with our family and friends. Also another exciting thing is I reached 30k on Instagram this weekend. When I hit milestones like this I love sharing blogging tips that really helped me on my blogging journey, and today I am talking all about networking. One of the best things you can do to grow your business and your blog is grow your network. I have met so many of my best blogger friends, business partners, and made the most collaborations through actively growing my network. Here are four tips to growing your network as a blogger, plus I’m also sharing how I styled this pretty red romper.
First of all, I want to say THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart. I really appreciate every single one of you who took the time to fill out the survey. I also appreciate all the positive feedback and the sweet messages. I seriously was in tears reading it. Honestly, I was so scared to do this survey because I was scared of getting negative or hateful responses. I’ve heard some horror stories from other bloggers, and it being my first survey, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I appreciate every single message from you guys, because it has reassured me of the direction I am going with this blog. I was a little lost at first, but after reading your responses it brought me back to why I blog, why I started this whole thing, and what keeps me going. So today I am going to share with you my whys, my goals, and my vision for this blog. Plus this classic denim on denim look thats perfect for summer and another GIVEAWAY!

I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for almost three years now. So much has changed since my very first post as a mom blogger. The very first post I did was when we found out we were having a boy! (View post here). I never envisioned this little space of mine would be more than just a place for my family and friends to share my journey as a new mom, and now I get to share it with all of you guys! This year I have been able to accomplish many milestones with my blog, and now that I am taking this full time, I hope to do much more. Right now I have so many thoughts and ideas on what I would like to do with my blog, I am at a crossroads in what direction I should take. I hope to be able to inspire you to follow your goals, whether they be fitness, fashion, or even to start a blog. So please if I could have a minute of your time, I would love to hear from you, your thoughts, and what you want to see more from me and my blog. Plus, I teamed up with one of my favorite brands, MarleyLilly, for this amazing giveaway below! All you have to do is complete my ten question survey to enter!
This week is literally flying by, and I did stay up super late so I could share this adorable spring outfit perfect for Easter or a day at the beach. I also wanted to talk to you guys about the importance of finding your unique style as a fashion blogger in this heavily saturated industry. Lets face it, it seems like there are a million and one fashion bloggers out there, and several of them working for the same companies, getting the same product to advertise. It can get very discouraging seeing one blogger, copy another blogger, posting the same outfit down from the same dress and shoes and calling it their own. Honestly as a blogger who follows a ton of fashion blogger. I get it, you are following a trend. But there is a big difference between following a trend, copying a trend, and setting the trend. Do you know where you fall?

When I found out I would be filing taxes as a self-employed blogger for the first time this year I automatically became overwhelmed with stress. I mean the stress that makes you freak out because you don’t know what the heck you are doing. I knew nothing about filing taxes as a self-employed business owner, and I was overwhelmed about the whole process. Plus, I had a million questions: how do I track my expenses, what can I write off, how do I calculate my taxes? All valid questions for any first time self-employed business owner. And as a mom on top of being self-employed business owner, taxes are the last thing you want to stress about. Continue reading
This post is a post that is a long time coming. It is a subject that has gotten so much backlash, caused so much drama, and is also a mystery for many bloggers starting out. But now that I have interns who help me with my every day social media, I teach them everything I know about maintaining and growing my social media channels. There is so much that goes into growing your social media, and Instagram is a big part of it. For those starting out it might seem overwhelming when you are not growing at the rates some bigger bloggers are. But what most people don’t realize is there is a lot of back end people don’t tell you that goes into growing Instagram. And unfortunately it isn’t always fair and it isn’t always organic growth either. So this post isn’t your cookie cutter Instagram tips post you might read everywhere else. This post is the nitty gritty ugly truth about growing your Instagram.
Can you believe New Years is less than 3 days away? I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas. I took a little break to enjoy my time with my family, but I will be rounding out the end of the year with two more blog post including this one. Today I wanted to talk about my second year blogging and the blogging lessons I learned this year and my goals for next year, as well as share this classic winter white outfit perfect for New Years.
This Saturday I reunited with some of my favorite blogger babes for our annual Blog Societies Brunch. The Blog Societies is one of many blog groups I am part of. It is a great community of bloggers from all over the country who share the same passion for blogging. As a blogger, one of my Top 10 Tips to Success for First Time Bloggers is to join blogger groups. Joining blogger groups helps you surround yourself with like-minded individuals, who are also working towards the same goals you are. It is a great way to make friends, ask for help, and to network with other bloggers. Without all my blogger friends I made along the way I would’t be where I am today. There are so many different blogger groups out there, but here are five blogging groups every blogger needs to join.
This year I reached some blogging milestones. I had my first post published in Huffington Post. I am now getting paid for post on my blog and my Instagram. Brands are paying to advertise on my blog. I had a the opportunity to collaborate with Nordstrom for a paid shopping spree, and I had my first all inclusive complementary travel blogger experience. It was a year of first and blogger dreams come true, but it was also a year of sleepless nights, frustration, and sheer exhaustion. I had tons of help from fellow bloggers, and my family to get me through my first blogging year. You see what most people don’t realize about blogging, is that it takes time, lots of planning, and help to create a good post. It isn’t as glamorous as it may seem on social media, and it can be a full-time job for those who pursue it as a career. I was able to experience success in the business aspect of blogging, but it wasn’t easy. But through my own trial and error here are ten tips to success that will help you in your first year blogging. Continue reading
