If There is One Thing You Can Do to Help Us, Do This.

power of prayer, psalm 43:1, family pictures, high low maxi dress, off the shoulder maxi dress, beach family pictures, family photos, professional family photos

Hey guys so I had this really amazing post for you guys about tips of finding a family photographer,  and of course to share all of these beautiful family photos we took with Olya Helga Photography. But instead I wanted to share what is heavy on my heart lately.  As all of ya’ll know we have been going through a lot down here in Houston with the Hurricane Harvey after math and the flooding that came with it. If you have been watching my Instastories you know we have been unable to reach our family do to the streets being flooded. Family who live not even fifteen minutes away, and it is truly disheartening. But I think what is most disheartening is reading all the negative things people are saying about God’s word and towards the people who preach it. Would you believe me if I told you I was criticized and told I was insensitive because I attributed my family’s safety and our house not being flooded to the power of prayer and to the glory of God? I never thought in my life I would be criticized for my belief, and by a fellow Christian surprisingly, especially during this time where we need prayer the most.

Transitioning from Summer to Fall: What to Wear After Labor Day

what to wear after Labor Day, transitioning from summer to fall wardrobe, what to wear in the fall, fall outfit, oversized cardigan, denim skirt, summer outfit, Prada glasses, camisole, slides, grey slides, Nordstrom, goodnight macaroon, daniel Wellington watch.

Happy Monday everyone. It’s been a crazy couple of days with Hurricane Harvey coming through Houston. There has been major flooding near where I live and even tornadoes. We are fortunate that our neighborhood and our families are safe, but with the roads still flooded we are unable to reach them even though they are on fifteen minutes down the road from us. We are thankful we have enough food, supplies, and power, and I am still able to blog and give you an update, but we are still not in the clear with the storm. Hopefully in the next two days the water will recede and we will be able to reunite with our families and friends. As of now we are buckling down in our homes and enjoying the quality time as a family. I want to thank everyone for keeping us in our prayers.

With Labor Day is just around the corner so is fall, and I know living in down here in Houston it may still feel like summer for a couple of months. But that doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate fall pieces into your wardrobe. Below I am sharing tips on what to wear after Labor Day, and the things you can buy now, wear and now, and later, including this outfit above.

Palm Print Dress for Under $20

Palm Print Dress for Under $20, summer style, palm print dress, off the shoulder dress, monogrammed bag, turquoise necklace, quay sunglasses, vacation style, Mia sandals, Gigi Ghillie Sandal

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I am sharing my last summer look from our vacation. I can’t believe next month we will be getting into fall even though it is still hot as Hades outside here in Houston. I wore this pretty palm print dress for under $20 to dinner when we were in Jupiter Beach. I loved it because of the off the shoulder ruffle detail and the light weight breezy material. I am all about fashion that I won’t sweat in especially living down here in Texas. I paired this dress with my favorite lace up summer block heels, and my monogrammed straw bag which was my go to bag for my trip. Check out my outfit here and here with the same bag and shoes. This dress also makes a great swimsuit cover up as well with its wrap waist detail. For the full look check out the rest of the post below.

Dear Jayden,

It’s me, your number one fan. I have been since the day I found out I was having you, I knew there was nothing I wanted more than you. To see you grow, to see you flourish, to see you become the man God has destined you to be. I could only imagine when you were growing inside me, what you would look like, what your personality would be, and know that you are here you are more than I could have ever imagined. Is it so wrong for me to think you are the most perfect little being that God has ever created? I am so amazed by you, each and every day. I stare at you while you sleep and I thank God everyday for giving me such a blessing. You are my little angel in disguised, my saving grace. I owe so much of me and who I am now to you. I never knew I could be this strong, love so much, and be who I am today without you.

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

beach photoshoot, what to wear on the beach, what to wear at a photoshoot, ruffle maxi, floral maxi, beach style, summer dresses under $50, beach model, how to model, model poses

Happy Friday guys,

First of all I am really excited to share these photos with you I took with Olya Helga Photography when we were on vacation, one because they are absolutely stunning, and two because it was out of my comfort zone. Now if ya’ll know me it is rare for me to hold a straight face without either smiling or laughing. My husband or my friends are usually the ones that take my pictures for my blog because I feel the most comfortable with them. I usually get awkward around other photographers or stiff in my posing. I always wanted to be able to pose like those girls in Vogue, but every time I did, my husband would always ask me why I looked mad lol. So when this photo shoot came a long I remember jokingly telling our photographer Olya I wanted to look like those models she photographs. And by the end of our shoot she had me doing all kinds of poses, unlike me at all. I remember laying their on a rock, a little awkward and uncomfortable and questioning myself, “are you sure I don’t look weird?” I was in shock when I got these back because I never thought I had it in me to pose like that. But I guess this shows you what having an amazing photographer will get you, and just having a little faith how life will surprise you when you step out of your comfort zone.

11 Tips for a Day at Disney with a Toddler

Thank you Disney World for partnering up with me this post.  As always all thoughts and opinions are mine alone. Thank you for supporting those who support this blog.

Alright guys so here is the second travel guide of our trip this past month. We had the opportunity to partner up with Disney for a fun-filled day with our family visiting the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom. We picked those two parks because they were my favorite the last time I went, and the most kid friendly for Jayden, meaning we would have plenty opportunities to meet Mickey! Plus we only had one day so we didn’t want to over exert ourselves. We really enjoyed our time and honestly we couldn’t have asked for a better first trip to Disney with Jayden. I mean as a mom you always fear the worse, meaning complete breakdowns in the park with an over exhausted in patient toddler, but we were lucky that day, because non of that happened. Honestly I can attribute a lot of that to careful planning and these tips here. Here are 11 Tips for a Day at Disney with a Toddler.

Now to be fair we only have one kiddo and for the most part he was very entertained just being outside and playing in the pool or at the beach. So let’s get back to the road trip, yep 36 hours on the road with our little guy and we survived. Haha I’m being dramatic when I say survived because we had a great time on the road. So what did Jayden do the whole time while we drove with no iPad or iPhone to entertain him? Well let me tell you. Here are some tips and tricks to an iPad/iPhone free road trip with a toddler.
